Big Red One To Hold 2010 Reunion in San Antonio, Texas

Renowned 1st Infantry Division, the Big Red One, will hold their 92nd Annual Reunion in San Antonio, Texas from August 25th to 29th at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk Hotel.
The reunion will be conducted by the Big Red One veterans organization, the Society of the First Infantry Division headquartered in Blue Bell, PA.
The 1st Infantry Division is the Army’s oldest and arguably most famous division. It served with great distinction in World War I, World War II, Vietnam and the first Gulf War (Desert Storm) as well as in Germany and the U.S. during the Cold War. Elements of the 1st Infantry Division have participated extensively in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and also in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
The 1st Infantry Division has also trained thousands of Military Transition Team members and deployed them to Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently, the Division’s 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is serving in northern Iraq. The Division headquarters will deploy to Iraq soon.
Over 800 Big Red One veterans and their guests attended the 91st Annual Reunion recently held in Dearborn, Michigan. The Commanding General of the Division and a solid contingent of leaders and young soldiers serving in the Division added a fresh and exciting dimension to the reunion.
Everyone who ever served in the First Infantry Division or any unit attached to it is cordially invited to attend the reunion.

$79.00 + Clark County Room Tax (12%). Rates are guaranteed for Sun 10/10/10, Mon 10/11/10, Tues 10/12/10, Wed 10/13/10, Thurs 10/14/10
Check-In/Check-Out
Guest check-in time is 3:00PM. If rooms are requested prior to check-in time, early arrivals will be accommodated
as rooms become available.
Check-Our time is 11:00AM.
Room Deposit/Payment:
All guests are responsible for their own guest room, tax, resort fee and other incidental charges.
It is the attendee's responsibility to submit a credit card number, or a deposit equal to one (1) nights room/suite rate, plus tax
as a guarantee, at the time the attendee makes the reservation.
Refunds will be issued on individual attendee's reservations canceled at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the confirmed arrival date.
All guaranteed reservations will be held until 12:00 AM only on the day after attendee's confirmed arrival date.
Attendee's must pay the balance of all room, tax, and incidental charges upon check-out.
Daily Resort Fee:
Hotel will apply a resort fee of $11.99 per room/per day which will allow guests to enjoy guest room internet access,
unlimited local and toll free calls, use of calling cards, and collect calls from their guest room. Third party and direct
dial long distance calls will be $.10 per minute. The resort fee will also include free boarding pass printing, notary services,
incoming and outgoing faxes (limit of 5 pages total), two welcome cocktails per room per stay, and a 20% discount on
select retail merchandise per room per stay. A daily newspaper will be available for pickup at Essentials store. This charge
will be posted to the guest's individual room folio.
Room Deliveries:
Items can be placed inside the sleeping rooms (not outside or under the door) after a guest has checked in. The hotel will
charge $2.50 per item, per room for all deliveries.

Cost of Reunion/ Activities:
Working on planning activities. Plan to have a meeting room (Penthouse suite) for meetings on Tues, Wed, Thurs. Thought
that maybe Sun/and or Mon could be option dates to see shows, travel, shop, etc. Anyone interested in helping plan or can provide
any "talent", please let me know.
Please provide names of those that will attend so I can make up name badges. Would like your contact information (email, phone, address,
regiment, company, yrs in country, etc) so I can try and get a list made up for all those that want it. Anyone that can,
please send $20/per person (payable to Fred Kirkpatrick) to help in the cost of the meeting room ($400/day), and other expenses.
